I’ve started my annual leave and, even though I’m hoping to have Bubba on Saturday so that Courtney can spend some time with him, it would be over a week before he came to stay again, so I had him today AND will have him on Saturday too.
Poor little thing has been sick since the end of August and all he wanted today was to sit with me and be cuddled. It’s awful to see him so unwell, but I have to admit, I love the cuddles!
He was obviously in pain as he would let out these whimpering sounds randomly and, despite the Nurofen and Panadol, his temp was still going strong. Overnight, he was a bit restless until he vomitted about midnight. Shortly after we sorted all that out, he slept solidly until 7am, which is very unusual for him – he was clearly exhausted.
When I picked him up out of his cot, I noticed a discharge coming from his right ear. I rang Marc and suggested they make an appointment to take him to the doctor as I thought he might have an ear infection. They did take him to the doctor and, not only did he have an ear infection, but his eardrum had burst, allowing all the pus to leak out. It was probably the reason he slept so well after he had thrown up (which probably caused the final pressure to burst his eardrum) because that painful pressure that an ear infection causes was relieved.
So no chance for any photos of Bubba today but his mum did give me some more ultrasounds of the new baby which, at 18 weeks, they have determined the gender to be………………..
