It has been quite hot this week and this morning was pleasantly warm so Courtney decided to wash her car. That meant two things for Bubba, being outside – favourite thing number one and, water – favourite thing number two!
I put him in some overalls, and we spent most of the morning outside. While Courtney was preparing to wash her car, Bubba wandered the backyard. There are some trees that the dogs have wandered in and out of causing small openings in the foliage near the ground. Perfect toddler height and Bubba loves to walk in and out of them with the dogs. They’re like living cubby houses for him.
As soon as Courtney had the bucket ready, Bubba was right into the bubbles. Where Bubba is – so are the dogs. They stick to him like glue so it’s lucky he loves them. I watch them like a hawk because you never know, but he loves the kisses and ‘hugs.
When Courtney turned on the power washer, the hose flipped off leaving a stream of water spurting out under pressure. Bubba squealed with delight. He stood in the stream laughing and jiggling around until Courtney fixed it. Seeing as he was now drenched, she let him help her wash the car in between spraying him every time he walked past. He thought it was a great game.
At one stage he came over to me to sit in between my legs for a little rest. Once he had re-energised, he was off and running again.
We got his hippo bubble machine out for the first time to try it. It worked a treat and he absolutely loved it! I think bubbles are his number three favourite thing LOL.
He was so exhausted that, when we came inside, he actually walked into his room and tried to climb into his cot indicating he wanted a sleep. And sleep he did, for 2 1/2 hours.
